It lies about nine kilometres west of Skiathos Town. South-west facing and in a deep sheltered bay, the sharp sand beach at Kolios is edged by wooded headlands .
Kolios has two tavernas on the beach, both of which are good, although one is considered more up-market and on the trendy side. There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and watersports are on offer.

Kolios beach is a curving stretch of fine, sharp sand that slopes gently into the sea, so it's good and safe for families. Beach facilities are gathered at one end of Kolios leaving the other end of Kolios beach much quieter.
Skiathos round-island tour boats often pull in at Kolios at the small jetty and, when the trippers disembark, the main section of Kolios beach and the shoreline tavernas can sometimes get quite crowded, although rarely for long.
There are several more small secluded coves to each side of the main Kolios beach that are fairly easily reached on foot.
